The Reno Balloon Race takes place just a few blocks from my home. Great video from You Tube. By the way, I spotted the Jesus Balloon made famous on Purgatorio. Is it a coincidence that after the Jesus Balloon rises, a cow balloon soon follows? Anybody but me wondering where Marc really is?

Oh! The eagle never took flight!
Actually the Eagle did take flight. A balloon is chosen to be the lead and they drop a target somewhere and then come back. All the other balloons try to drop a key as close to the lead balloon's target as possible. I think this must have been filmed on the day that there was little wind so the balloons did not go very far away.
The most beautiful spectacle is the dawn patrol. They completely light up their balloons when it is still dark outside and take them up.
Oh yeah, I see now. The eagle was one of the first to go. It would be so wrong for an eagle not to take flight.
