Big Hair on Christian Men

Oops! This is not a man!What is it about big hair on some Christian men? Does it imply a more spiritual relationship? I thought it was a Texas thing...but no! I think that the bigger the hair,....um....the smaller the....grasp of theology...as I worded it on another blog recently. Why is it that I feel like I am in a 1980's retro time machine when I see pictures of these guys. Hello, we are so OVER the 80's already! Now you have to admit...these guys can certainly afford a better haircut. Here are some pictures of prominent (prosperous) Christian men with bad haircuts. Can you guess that I am in a tabloid mood? Oh yeah...wild men don't necessarily have to have wild hair either.

Ha! Buuut, why do you think John Eldridge has bad theology? I know he's not on the Benny Hinn level of garbage. I haven't read any of his stuff, but I know people that have, and enjoyed his books. Inquiring minds want to know.

John Eldredge is an Open Theist. In other words, rather than believing in the sovereignty of God, he believes that God is a "risk taker" leaving things in our hands and hoping we make the right decisions. Our decisions determine the outcome. It goes a bit further than free will. It leaves Gods hands tied so to speak.
Here is a better definition.
Open theism, also known as free will theism and openness, is the teaching that God does not know all things. That is, He does not know the free will choices that people will make in the future because God either chooses not to know or because the future isn't knowable.
That's interesting, and certainly dumb, but I don't believe it puts him in the same category of Hinn. I think there's nothing good in Hinn, though Eldridge may simply be "off" in his theology. Thanks for the info!

I don't think ANYBODY is in the same category as Hinn. I think Eldredge just has bad theology, but it probably would be fun to go on a hike with him. :)
I don't think his hair should be in the same category as Hinn's, either!
Actually, this all started when I saw a picture of Joel Osteen, and since I lived in Texas for awhile, I pondered the Texas penchant for big hair...and that started me in the direction of big hair on men. No one, but no one, can pass Jan Crouch for big hair though. Not even Tammy Faye.
Maybe they have big hair because of latent desire to take the Nazirite vow.

So INCREDIBLY HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!! I tend to give, especially Benny Hinn and Joel Osteen a hard time... but this just goes beyond anything I have ever written. Thanks for the AB workout. Whew! I'm hurtin'
